WATCH: Baby was left and buried for 24 hours to die in a mud hole still survives

Many viral stories are about children abandoned by their parents (e.g. baby abandoned in a trash bin). The rise of this trend is alarming but the stories behind each baby’s survival are remarkable mainly due to the people’s kindness and the baby’s luck and resilience. In Curitiba, capital state of Parana, Brazil, a baby boy was buried in a muddy tunnel and spend 24 hours in there before being found by the police.

Lucinda Ferreira Guimaraes, the mother, was seen by the neighbors leave her house in the morning with her belly still big and apparently still pregnant. When she came back at 6 pm, she has smaller stomach and carrying bloody clothes. Her neighbor suspected something wasn’t right so the person tried to look around the area. It became so dark that he was forced to stop his search. He continued the following day and found the baby’s head by a bush in a muddy tunnel, with many flies surrounding the baby and the placenta still intact! Apparently, Lucinda gave birth in the woods, 300 yards away from her house, then buried the child in the muddy hole.

The baby appeared to be dead as he didn’t move nor make any sound. Then the neighbor called the cops. The police pulled the baby out of his supposed grave but then, the child started crying! It turned out that the little tyke was sleeping. Everyone was rejoicing.

The baby was saved due to three things: The rain shower washed away the dirt in his head which could have buried him completely. The umbilical cord was not yet cut, blood loss was prevented and this allowed the baby’s survival The child still has his nutrient’s from his mother which sustained him.

Lucinda denied that she was the mother of the baby. She did not also admit to burying him. Reports say she was arrested and sent to prison while the baby was given to his biological father. And probably, the reason why Lucinda buried the newborn is the absence of the father during the pregnancy. It was fortunate that the kid survived. May he not know the horror of what his mother did to him for it will break him.
